Basalt fibers have strength and high heat resistance between glass fibers and carbon fibers, and they come in various products such as fabrics, chopped strands, rods, meshes, and mats. They have a golden color and a luxurious feel different from carbon, making them suitable for design-focused products. Compared to carbon and glass fibers, the most distinctive features are their good balance of heat resistance and mechanical strength, as well as their ability to be processed in incinerators. The former is used in heat-resistant building materials and heat-resistant wiring, while the latter is expected to serve as an alternative to GFPR and CFPR, considering final disposal, as it does not melt and damage furnace walls or cause electrical systems to short circuit.
