In 1971, the first production line was completed, followed by the second in 1986 and the third in 1990 at the Kashima Plant (Kamis, Ibaraki Prefecture), establishing a stable supply system for both domestic and international markets. Subsequently, in September 1998, a subsidiary was established in Chesapeake, Virginia, USA, to handle production and sales, further enhancing the global stable supply system. Since October 2000, a sales subsidiary has been established in Germany, initiating independent sales using the YUPO brand in Europe and Africa. Additionally, sales bases have been set up in China, India, and Thailand, making Yupo a top manufacturer with a significant share in the synthetic paper sector worldwide.
