A sensor system that collects data on essential soil, air, and sunlight for plants, records it on the web through a gateway, and visualizes it through an app.
Agri Palette is a sensor system that collects essential data for plants, including soil (soil moisture, soil temperature, soil EC, soil pH), air (temperature, humidity, carbon dioxide concentration), and sunlight exposure, and records this data on the web (database) through a gateway (receiver), allowing for visualization via an app. ■Development Background The use of sensors for the "visualization" of agriculture is seen as fundamental to smart farming; however, many sensors cost over several hundred thousand yen, and their adoption has not progressed outside of some advanced horticultural facilities. Since early 2018, Momo Co., Ltd. has been delivering agricultural IoT systems for commercial use to multiple agricultural corporations and major coffee chain companies. (These systems are being utilized not only in closed horticulture but also in open-field cultivation.) In this context, starting in August 2018, we have been conducting tests to improve sensor accuracy, developing calibration logic, and carrying out research and interviews to reduce costs, all with the support of the JA Zen-Noh Group. We have successfully incorporated all of our achievements into the specifications of Agri Palette and have managed to lower the price, leading to its release through Makuake.

basic information
You can immediately collect and utilize data from eight items that form the basis of smart agriculture. It transmits data over a distance of 600 meters via direct communication (an additional 600 meters can be achieved with a relay device. Even with obstacles like tomatoes, you can hop over them with a relay device). The receiver uploads the data to the server via Wi-Fi. The collected data is displayed on a website and can be used for cultivation and agricultural work. Essential data for achieving the desired quality and yield can be collected at a low cost. (*Please contact us if you need a relay device after installation. *Data cannot be viewed with sensors alone; at least one gateway is required.) [How to Use] Set up the Wi-Fi for the gateway (the setup is simple), and once you turn on the sensor power, the data will be sent to the cloud immediately. If there is no Wi-Fi router near the field, using a pocket Wi-Fi is recommended. You can view the data by logging into a dedicated site. There is also a notification function based on set thresholds, and you can export data to Excel, making it easy to keep records and utilize the information. Since it is wireless, no special electrical work is required. Even those without knowledge of sensors, computers, or IoT can use it with confidence.

Applications/Examples of results
Dear Mr. Tashiro of JA Group Agventure Lab, "The use of sensors for the 'visualization' of agriculture is regarded as a fundamental aspect of smart agriculture. However, many sensors cost over several hundred thousand yen, and their adoption has not progressed outside of some advanced facility horticulture. The agricultural sensors from Momo are entry-level models that can be implemented by small to medium-sized greenhouse horticultural farmers who have previously been unable to adopt sensors. They are expected to be active in many fields. Furthermore, with the public release of the API, if various companies develop applications, it is evaluated as a promising step towards a data-driven smart agriculture future." By adopting a smartphone-based system that allows other system development companies, aside from Momo Inc., to deploy their own services using the same sensor data, various applications can be utilized. Three companies, including IoTBase, have already expressed their intention to enter this market. Companies considering entering the agricultural sector can store data from this product on their own servers and display and utilize it on websites or mobile applications, thereby becoming providers of agricultural IoT services (the services provided will pertain to the data of the purchaser themselves. The use of data from non-purchasers will be provided after separate discussions).
