[Patent Obtained] Mobile Contaminated Soil Purification Treatment System (On-site Treatment)
On-site purification treatment of naturally occurring arsenic-containing contaminated soil.
To meet the growing demand for low-cost and space-saving solutions for contaminated soil treatment, we have developed a mobile heavy metal contaminated soil purification system composed of a classification and washing machine equipped with a bubbling mechanism for arsenic extraction from contaminated soil and adsorption of the extracted arsenic onto iron powder, as well as a compact wet magnetic separator that efficiently recovers and recirculates the iron powder adsorbed with arsenic, achieving low cost and space efficiency.

Applications/Examples of results
■Flow of Purification Process Using a crash fire equipped with a bubbling mechanism, the process classifies coarse components that are not contaminated with heavy metals and fine components that contain heavy metals. It also includes a step where iron powder is added to a tank, and bubbling is used for stirring and mixing to adsorb heavy metals onto the iron powder. The mixed water containing overflowed iron powder and fine components from the tank is then processed through a wet magnetic separator equipped with cylindrical magnets for iron powder separation and recovery. This results in a compact system that reduces equipment costs and running costs for heavy metal contaminated soil purification, unlike conventional systems. *Compared to similar systems equipped with centrifugal separators. ■Example of System Installation The two main pieces of equipment necessary for the purification of contaminated soil can be easily moved and installed on-site. Despite having a rational and minimal configuration, it is capable of removing contaminants to levels below the standards set by the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act.
Company information
Odessa Technos Co., Ltd. conducts a comprehensive recycling business focused on the "Odessa System (granulation and solidification)" that recycles sludge while retaining its moisture, thereby reducing environmental impact. Leveraging our technological capabilities developed through sludge treatment technology and years of expertise in sludge recycling, we have developed Japan's first heavy metal contaminated soil purification treatment system using a "wet magnetic separator," aimed at completely purifying arsenic contained in naturally occurring contaminated soil to below the standards set by the Soil Contamination Countermeasures Act. This new system mixes special iron powder and circulating water with air bubbles in the contaminated soil, allowing for the adsorption, washing, and classification of arsenic (heavy metals) onto the special iron powder. After this process, the wet magnetic separator separates and recovers the special iron powder that has adsorbed arsenic (heavy metals), achieving complete purification. The recovered special iron powder can be reused repeatedly, thus reducing treatment costs and environmental impact.
