Introducing a case of forming "ultra-thin" pipes from titanium alloy 64 round bars using NC lathes!
At Orfa, which provides everything from processing to surface treatment of titanium and titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V, we offer titanium processed products for a wide range of fields. 【Introducing a processing example of "ultra-thin" pipes through cutting from round bars】 After cutting titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V round bars to specified dimensions, the inner side is machined using a CNC lathe to achieve the thinnest possible wall thickness. This method is expected to be applied mainly to motor component covers and battery covers. 【Processing Details】 Band saw cutting → CNC lathe ◆ Band Saw Cutting The base material, titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V round bar, is cut to the required size using a band saw. The applicable range is an outer diameter of Φ10mm to Φ300mm and a length of L10mm or more. ◆ CNC Lathe After cutting to the required size, the inner side is machined using a CNC lathe. The applicable range allows for wall thickness reduction down to t0.5mm. By rearranging tools and processing jigs, various cutting processes are possible. We have newly introduced one additional piece of equipment in our factory to further enhance our capability for stable quality mass production of the same products. *Our catalog of titanium products can be viewed via the "PDF Download" link below.
