Additionally, PFOA is designated as a Type 1 monitored chemical substance under the same law and is subject to REACH regulations along with other organic fluorinated compounds. The list of restricted substances under the REACH regulation has been amended, and PFOA and its salts are now subject to regulation, requiring exports to the EU to demonstrate compliance with these regulations.
