We will introduce high-quality cutting of lithium-ion battery electrodes using ultra-short pulse lasers.

At Lips Works, we propose cutting with ultra-short pulse lasers that have the following features to accommodate flexible design changes for lithium-ion battery electrodes: - Simultaneous laser cutting of metal foils and active material laminates. - Cutting surfaces without thermal effects (burns or melting), which were issues with conventional fiber lasers and nanosecond pulse lasers. - No need for mold production, allowing for streamlined development lead times and costs. - Processing can be done if you provide product design data (CAD drawings) and materials. - Size changes can be accommodated by modifying the CAD drawings on-site. - No mechanical stress occurs in the processing area, preventing the active material from detaching. - High-quality cutting with sharp edges is sustained without degradation in processing quality due to mold wear. - Cutting of not only electrode materials but also separators (resin materials) is possible. - The fastest cutting speed in the industry can be achieved using ultra-MHz high-speed light sources. - It can also be used as a light source for slitting wound-type electrode materials.
