Research and development cart robot/AGV: This is a four-wheel drive cart robot based on the JetBot project proposed by NVIDIA.
Development on the Jetson Nano can be conducted using Jupyter Notebook, a web browser-based development and analysis tool. It can be utilized in a wide range of fields as a learning tool for GPU computing, as well as a base platform for research, development, and implementation that combines information processing with the driving performance of large cart robots. This product features mecanum wheels as the driving wheels. In addition to moving forward and backward and turning left and right, it is also capable of lateral movement, making it particularly well-suited for body control using object recognition. Its ability to handle delicate control, such as slight position adjustments and precise approaches to targets, is a notable characteristic. By enabling modern information processing technologies, such as object recognition using machine learning, to be output immediately to practical large cart robots rather than being confined within a computer, it serves as an effective tool for rapid research and development with implementation in mind.

The Jetson Nano mounted on the JetBot Mecanum offers a powerful GPU in addition to a standard CPU. The JetBot project, proposed by NVIDIA, leverages this computational power to facilitate easy learning and implementation of modern computing, such as object recognition using deep learning. The JetBot Mecanum is suitable for experiencing and implementing technologies referred to as modern AI, as it can utilize the web browser-based programming environment Jupyter Notebook and official sample sources used in the JetBot project. Sample sources for lateral movement using Mecanum wheels are also provided.

The JetBot Mecanum adopts the well-received "Mecanum Rover" as its base vehicle. It has a payload capacity of approximately 40 kg and a maximum speed of 1.3 m/s, making it a notably large chassis for the JetBot project. Additionally, by equipping it with four Mecanum wheels, it can move forward and backward, turn left and right, and move laterally, accommodating the diverse and precise control required for autonomous mobile platforms. Since the processing results from the Jetson Nano's GPU can be reflected in this large robot, it is suitable not only for simple programming learning but also for serious development aimed at practical applications. Furthermore, the battery-powered operating time under no load is approximately 21 hours, providing sufficient availability. *Note: The battery operating time is a design value under standard conditions when not using the Jetson Nano. The actual battery operating time may vary significantly depending on practical circumstances.*
-
By using the gamepad-style wireless controller "VS-C3" included with this product, you can wirelessly control the JetBot Mecanum without connecting to a PC or similar device. Please note that this function connects to the control board VS-WRC051, not the Jetson Nano, so the signals from the VS-C3 cannot be recognized by the Jetson Nano.
