As a mixing device for powder coatings, it has been an industry standard for over 60 years.
The further evolved PCS series sets new industry standards in terms of profitability, versatility, and ease of handling. While maintaining the unique operating principle of Buss-Nieder, significant changes have been made to the process section. As a result of extending the process length and increasing the screw rotation speed, production capacity and product quality have greatly improved, and the profitability of the investment has also increased further. 【Functions and Advantages】 - Extended processing section (L/D) - Increased residence time - Further improvement in product quality - Energy savings - Development of wear-resistant elements - Easy maintenance - Reduced material changeover time - Shortened installation and startup time - A wide range of formulations possible with a single device

The shear gradient, which is very important in the mixing process, is generated on the sides of the mixing pins and mixing flights. What is crucial here is the shear gap (Si), which spans the entire flight pitch. (Figure) Thanks to this technical feature, the products in the mixing section can achieve a very uniform and gentle shear without any local protrusions. The shear gradient is sufficiently large to melt the matrix material through frictional heat and provide the energy necessary for distribution and dispersion mixing. Moreover, this shear effect does not cause thermal or mechanical damage to either the matrix material or the additives.

Buss AG, headquartered in Switzerland, has been manufacturing and selling continuous kneading extruders that play a crucial role in various compounding processes involving chemical materials such as plastics and rubber, as well as food, for over 70 years. Buss was the first in the world to introduce a unique continuous kneading extruder using the reciprocating motion of a single-screw, and has long been known as the Buss Ko-Kneader. It has gained immense trust from customers who require precise temperature control and produce shear-sensitive materials. This has enabled it to thrive in various chemical manufacturing settings, including PVC, polypropylene, PET, thermoplastic elastomers, XLPE, flame-retardant cables, masterbatches, powder coatings, and toners. Together with a global sales network and partners, Buss provides reliable and efficient technology along with top-class after-sales service.
