Using a CCM alloy that is strong against rust (high corrosion resistance), hard (high hardness), and tough (high toughness), we will create shapes using an electron beam metal 3D printer!
We are manufacturing "industrial slitter knives" using a metal 3D printer. Using a CCM alloy (cobalt-chromium-molybdenum) that is resistant to rust (high corrosion resistance), hard (high hardness), and tough (high toughness), we create industrial slitter knives with an electron beam metal 3D printer. Please refer to the downloadable materials for specific data on hardness, toughness, and corrosion resistance. 【Currently responding to development requests from Toyo Knife Co., Ltd.】 We have started supplying prototypes of disc-shaped blades using the CCM material, which was jointly developed by Tohoku University’s Institute for Materials Research and Toyo Knife, known for its excellent corrosion resistance, hardness, and toughness (resistance to chipping), since last year. We are working on the production process in preparation for mass production starting at the end of 2019.

basic information
Japan Metal Additive Manufacturing (JAMPT) was established in November 2017 by partners who aspire to spread and permeate metal 3D printer technology in Japan. JAMPT is a service bureau (SB) that can provide a seamless service from powder development and manufacturing to prototyping and mass production, making it the first of its kind in the field of metal 3D printing in Japan. With the pioneering presence of Koiwai Co., Ltd., academic backing and technical support from Professor Akihiko Chiba of Tohoku University (Institute of Metal Materials), and the global network and information power of Sojitz Corporation, we will demonstrate advanced capabilities in the field of metal 3D printing. As part of a super-smart society in manufacturing, we aim to stand at the forefront of metal 3D printer technology, consider AM technology in manufacturing settings, and overcome challenges together with our customers. By providing unprecedented new products and new value chains to the world, we aspire to contribute to creating a prosperous society. We wish to continue holding this aspiration. "Metal 3D printer? Let's ask JAMPT." We will strive to become a company where such voices can be heard in the product development sites of our customers.
