We evaluated the processing accuracy of manual work using a disk glider!
This document describes our technology for drilling circular holes in FRP plates using a standard hole saw and a disk grinder (disk sander) that causes minimal damage to FRP, along with a quantitative evaluation of the roundness and positional accuracy of the holes using a CMM (coordinate measuring machine). As a result, both roundness and center position accuracy were superior with the hole saw; however, multiple instances of delamination of the FRP were observed on the machined end face when using the hole saw. We believe we have demonstrated one of the quantitative indicators for setting machining tolerances. [Contents] ■ Evaluation preparation and methods - Sample preparation for evaluation - Roundness measurement ■ Results - Sample preparation for evaluation - Roundness measurement ■ Discussion - Causes of surface delamination resulting from hole processing with a hole saw - Accuracy of drilling processes, etc. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
