Glass-coated well plates that allow for the same handling as PP-made well plates.
Well plates offer many useful tools to automate the filling, handling, and sealing of samples, making them equipment that can be expected to provide high throughput. However, they are often made of polypropylene (PP), which poses issues such as limitations on usable solvents, contamination of samples due to leachables from the plate caused by solvents, and loss of compounds due to adsorption on the well walls. The Thermo Scientific WebSeal Plate+ addresses these issues by coating the walls with glass, while also retaining the advantages of plastic well plates (such as automation with robots and the use of multi-pipettes).
