In recent years, environmental issues have been prominently addressed, leading to a significant increase in the construction of flue gas treatment facilities, including tall chimneys, air preheaters, dust collectors, and flue gas desulfurization systems. In the flue gas treatment processes of plants that use coal or oil as fuel, there is a focus on improving desulfurization efficiency, which has resulted in low-temperature corrosion caused by sulfur oxides becoming a major problem. This low-temperature corrosion, known as sulfuric acid dew point corrosion, is caused by high-temperature, high-concentration sulfuric acid and, unlike general atmospheric corrosion, severely corrodes not only ordinary steel but also stainless steel. "S-TEN" has been developed as a welding structural material that is resistant to sulfuric acid dew point corrosion and hydrochloric acid dew point corrosion.
