There are two types of hold-up modules available, ranging from 50W to 300W. The hold-up module provides an alternative solution to reduce the required capacity by charging the hold-up capacitor at a high voltage value. The HUGD series has three main operating modes: Charging Operation Mode: When the input voltage ramps up and reaches the charging threshold (set by the "power fail voltage" value), the module charges the external capacitor while supplying power to the DC/DC converter. Once the capacitor reaches 90% of the final set value, the "capacitor charging" signal becomes active, and it enters normal operating mode. Normal Operating Mode: In normal operating mode, once the capacitor is charged, the module is essentially transparent. It operates indefinitely in this state, maintaining the capacitor in a charged state until the input voltage falls below the "power fail voltage" threshold. Power Fail Mode: When the input voltage drops below the "power fail voltage" threshold, the "power fail" signal becomes active, and the module disconnects the input from the output, connecting the hold-up capacitor to the output. When that voltage eventually discharges to a value slightly above the "power fail voltage" threshold, the "capacitor discharge" flag becomes active.
