Artificial membranes that can be used for drug membrane permeability rate testing. In vitro evaluation of membrane permeability in non-clinical stage drugs such as oral and gastrointestinal membranes is possible.
It is a multilayer structure that sandwiches phospholipids between cellulose films. It can be stored long-term at room temperature and does not require any pretreatment, allowing for immediate use when needed. Being a homogeneous artificial membrane, it provides high measurement reproducibility. Stable testing is possible over a wide pH range. It can also be used with samples containing solvents such as ethanol and DMSO, surfactants, and biomimetic solvents.

Applications/Examples of results
As an alternative to biological membranes in permeability testing. - Drug pharmacokinetics in drug discovery research - Evaluation of intestinal absorption of drugs during oral administration - A preliminary screening tool for CaCo-2 permeability tests - An alternative method to the PAMPA (Parallel Artificial Membrane Permeability Assay) The concentration of components that have permeated the membrane is analyzed using HPLC or LC-MS.
