Muto Co., Ltd. [Case Study on the Introduction of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGV)]
The AGV assists with picking in conjunction with the warehouse management system! A virtual conveyor is realized.
We would like to introduce a case study of the introduction of an Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) system at Muto Co., Ltd.'s Tokyo SPD Center. Due to business expansion, we relocated to a new warehouse that is three times larger, which also increased the transportation distance for inbound and outbound goods by three times, leading to increased physical strain on workers. Additionally, amidst a societal labor shortage, there was a demand for improvements in automation and efficiency in operations. In response, we implemented our Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) system. After the implementation, the warehouse management system and AOS collaborated, allowing the AGV to lead to the picking items, thereby covering the differences in workers' abilities. Automated transportation during inbound and outbound processes was achieved, reducing the burden on workers. [Case Study] ■ Background of Implementation - Significant increase in the volume of handled goods amidst a labor shortage - Transportation distance tripled due to the move to the new center ■ Reasons for Selection - Does not hinder the delivery of supplies during disasters or power outages - Can be controlled in conjunction with the warehouse management system *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
