basic information
■Principle of Autoclave Under high pressure, many chemical reactions proceed faster than at normal pressure (1 atmosphere), and reactions that are rarely observed at normal pressure can occur. Additionally, when heating objects containing moisture, at normal pressure, most of the moisture inside the object turns into steam and is lost around the boiling point of water at 100°C (1 atmosphere). However, under high pressure, the boiling point rises, allowing the object to be heated at temperatures significantly exceeding 100°C while retaining the moisture. This characteristic is utilized.
