[Introduction of Process Improvement Case] Cost Improvement through Nighttime Unmanned Operation
Change of processing equipment and review of jigs enabled unmanned operation at night! As a result of improvements, processing time was reduced by 18% (aluminum parts).
We would like to introduce a case study conducted by TAAFU Corporation, which shortened the machining time for industrial robot parts. The improvement point was the review of processing equipment from vertical machining centers to 5-axis controlled horizontal machining centers, achieving unmanned operation during nighttime. Additionally, by switching from drill (high-speed tool steel) to carbide tools, the machining speed increased. As a result, the improvement effect led to an 18% reduction in machining time.
