The care robot suit relies on lightweight design, simplicity, and safety. Regarding the bonding of the polyester fabric and aluminum substrate in the sleeve that goes over both arms, we decided to use adhesive bonding. However, not only is stable adhesive strength difficult to achieve, but there is also the issue of corrosion and deterioration due to sweating inside the sleeve during use, leading to peeling. Therefore, as a pre-treatment for bonding the aluminum substrate and polyester fabric, we applied a base anodizing treatment called "TAF TR" to the surface of the parts. This allows for stable and good adhesive strength, ensuring consistent quality, and reducing the frequency of parts replacement and maintenance, thereby decreasing the burden on users. [Challenges and Background] - Regarding the bonding of the polyester fabric and aluminum substrate in the sleeve that goes over both arms, using bolt fastening takes up three-dimensional space at the bolt points, narrowing the range of motion for the arms. - We decided to use adhesive bonding, but not only is stable adhesive strength difficult to achieve, there is also the problem of corrosion and deterioration due to sweating inside the sleeve during use, leading to peeling. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.*
