By giving the robot a sense of touch, it can autonomously correct for workpiece tolerances, warping, and even gravitational loads at high speed, allowing for consistent contact pressure during processing from any angle. For example, R-shaped forms like motorcycle tanks and pipes can be automatically polished and ground without the need for intricate programming, thus reducing cycle times.

FerRobotics' Active Compliant Technology automatically corrects the "difference" in contact pressure (force) that occurs during polishing and grinding, which require skilled techniques, at high speed. This technology allows for consistent polishing/grinding at the set pressure, unaffected by variations in processing speed or gravitational load differences due to angles. With the end effector (ACF) utilizing ACT technology, it instantly adjusts to changes in dimensional tolerances, curved shapes, and non-flat surfaces through rapid automatic correction of stroke extension and contraction, maintaining contact with the workpiece at the set force. This technology can increase the speed of the equipment and the robot's trajectory, thereby enhancing processing speed and improving cycle time. Additionally, in robotic polishing and grinding, the ACF controls the contact pressure through the extension and contraction of its stroke, eliminating the need to move the heavy robot arm for corrections, which further assists in improving the processing speed of robotic polishing. Furthermore, since it automatically corrects tool load variations due to gravity changes based on the robot's angle, it consistently maintains uniform contact pressure from any angle, enabling a finish without processing inconsistencies.
