The SL-501 is an ultrasonic sand level gauge that incorporates a water pressure gauge (wave height measurement) and an inclinometer, featuring a self-recording function. It is installed underwater near the seabed. Ultrasonic pulses emitted from the ultrasonic transducer (at one-second intervals) reflect off the seabed, and the time taken for them to return to the device is accurately measured to determine and record the distance to the seabed (sand surface).
