Characteristics and Processing Methods of Insulating Material "Glass Phenolic Resin Laminates"
A board containing phenolic resin has superior insulation and strength compared to paper and cloth!
Our company, Yamada Manufacturing Co., Ltd., has built a long-standing trust and track record with our customers in the field of non-metallic resin pressing due to the uniqueness of this area. We introduce basic information and know-how regarding insulating material processing from a perspective that only we can provide. Please read this before material selection and processing. The insulating material "Glass Phenolic Resin Laminates" is a board made with glass cloth as the base material and contains phenolic resin, offering superior insulation and strength compared to paper and fabric, making it a heat-resistant material. Although it is somewhat more expensive than inexpensive composite materials, we offer two types: one with higher strength and heat resistance made solely from glass fibers (all cloth). Compared to glass epoxy resin laminates, it has a higher heat resistance temperature and is more affordable. 【Features】 ■ Base material is glass cloth ■ A board containing phenolic resin, which excels in insulation and strength compared to paper and fabric ■ Two types available: one with higher strength and heat resistance made solely from glass fibers ■ More affordable and has a higher heat resistance temperature compared to glass epoxy resin laminates ~ For any requests regarding the pressing or bending of non-metal materials, please leave it to us! ~ *For more detailed information, please refer to the PDF materials.

basic information
【Points to be Careful About During Processing】 ■ Unlike paper and fabric substrates, heating is not required during processing, but because glass fibers are woven in, the molds are prone to wear. ■ Due to the poor affinity between phenolic resin and glass fibers, interlayer delamination (peeling) is likely to occur during processing. ■ Processing powder (glass powder) can enter the sliding surfaces of molds and equipment, leading to wear, so early maintenance is necessary. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Yamada Manufacturing is a leading company in non-metallic resin pressing, primarily focusing on the processing of Bakelite, and we deliver a wide range of products such as resin press parts and insulating parts to the automotive industry. Bakelite processing utilizes a variety of materials, including paper and fabric substrates, as well as our mainstay glass substrates. Our products are increasingly being adopted in automotive electrical components, electronic device parts, and more recently, in electric vehicle components, which has garnered us further patronage. Additionally, we have a proven track record in processing a diverse array of materials, including thin film products, melamine, and rubber. In recent years, we have also achieved cost reductions through shape processing of adhesive-backed materials and by applying adhesives to substrates in-house before shape processing.
