Coiled wave springs (CWS) that demonstrate excellent power in limited height spaces. They contribute to reducing work processes and miniaturizing products.
CWS refers to a compression spring formed by coiling flat wire into a continuous wave shape. 【Features】 ■ The structure receives load evenly around the coil circumference, allowing for stable and parallel "deflection" (stroke) both up and down. ■ It can handle loads significantly greater than those of conventional compression springs (compression springs), enabling a lower installation height. This contributes to the miniaturization and weight reduction of products. ■ It is more suitable for smaller strokes or static use than for larger strokes. A clear example is that by replacing multiple compression springs used in the clutch section by automobile manufacturers with a single CWS, we were able to resolve issues such as "high labor costs and time-consuming assembly" and "troublesome maintenance." Additionally, compared to disc springs or wave washers punched from sheet material, it offers better yield, lower costs for mold forming, and the ability to accommodate shape changes and special plate thicknesses, making it a noteworthy alternative to disc springs and wave washers. *Since the load is smaller compared to disc springs, it cannot be simply replaced, but it can simplify complicated assembly processes depending on the application.

Detailed information

CWS refers to a spring that is coiled continuously in a wave shape using flat wire, allowing for stable deflection and the ability to exert strong spring force in a limited space. Compared to coil springs, it can provide a wider range of load characteristics, making it possible to compensate for the performance of multiple coil springs with just one CWS. Its main features are space-saving and lightweight design.
-
It has a shape similar to wave washers arranged in series, but compared to wave washers punched from sheet material, it has better yield, lower mold forming costs, and the ability to accommodate changes in spring shape and special plate thicknesses, making it an attractive alternative to wave washers.

Since it is structured to receive loads evenly along the circumference of the coil, a stable deflection with parallel upper and lower surfaces can be achieved. *The photo shows the inclination when using a compression coil spring.

CWS, which can undergo various special processing depending on the application, is active in many industries around the world.

Our company has been dedicated to the production of springs as a specialized manufacturer for nearly half a century. In the spring industry, we are known by the standard spring brand "San-Es," and we are considered the "pioneers of standard springs" for being the first to popularize standard springs in the market. In addition to the "San-Es standard springs," we also cater to custom orders for all types of wire springs, including compression springs, extension springs, and torsion springs, as well as lesser-known but highly excellent products such as "special-shaped wire springs," "CWS," and "flexible shafts." We practice our corporate philosophy of "always being sincere and contributing to society through the creation of trusted products," and these products have been continuously loved by many customers over the years. Moving forward, in order to gain further trust from everyone, our company will work together to develop and grow daily, ensuring accurate quality and responding sincerely to customer requests as we engage in "monozukuri" (the art of making things) every day.
