The On-chip Droplet generator allows for the easy production of W/O emulsions. It can easily encapsulate cells, intestinal bacteria, environmental microorganisms, protozoa, DNA, beads, and more. *An optional temperature control feature is available, enabling the production of gel balls as well. ■Stable and uniform droplets can be produced By using our proprietary disposable microfluidic chip, stable and uniform droplets can be created. ■Droplet size can be adjusted through easy pressure control By controlling the pressure applied to the sample and oil, the size of the produced droplets can be adjusted. ■Observation of droplets during production is possible with the observation unit Using the included observation unit, droplets can be observed after production.

The volume of a microplate well is approximately 100 μl, while the volume of a 50 μm diameter emulsion is about 100 pl, which is one millionth of that. Because it is in a micro compartment, the absolute amount of impurities contained in the emulsion dramatically decreases, resulting in improved analytical precision. At the same time, the small volume of the emulsion reduces the time required for reactions and the amount of reagents needed, leading to cost savings and increased throughput. For example, when conducting 1 million reaction experiments, a 384-well plate would require 2,600 plates, but with emulsions, 1 million emulsions can fit into a single conical tube.
