It offers an astonishing heat crack suppression effect that sets it apart from conventional surface treatments!
"AKC processing" is a heat check/crack resistance treatment developed for aluminum die casting and similar applications. Based on the new Kanak treatment, we have identified conditions that significantly suppress cracking and optimized the treatment. While maintaining the advantages of the new Kanak treatment, such as weldability and electrical discharge machinability, the heat check/crack resistance has been enhanced. 【Features】 ■ Excellent heat check resistance ■ Welding operations can be performed without issues ■ Repeat processing is possible without compromising toughness ■ Composite treatment with other processes is possible *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Kanak processing is a gas nitriding treatment using a unique method. The material is held in a heating atmosphere of around 500°C for several hours, allowing nitrogen to diffuse from the surface of the steel and react with metal elements to form a hardened layer. Unlike conventional nitriding treatments, there are very few brittle iron nitride compounds near the surface, and the high compressive residual stress along with a smooth hardness distribution are characteristics of Kanak processing.
