Yanagihara Mechax Co., Ltd. https://www.y-mechax.com/ Yanagihara Mechax Co., Ltd., headquartered in Yoshida Town, Haibara District, Shizuoka Prefecture, is a parts processing manufacturer with over 50 years of history since its establishment as a corporate entity in 1967. ◆◆◆ Case Study ◆◆◆ A total of 8 machines, including 6 machine tools and 2 robots, were connected to the FIELD system within the headquarters factory premises. ◆◆◆ Insights from Implementation ◆◆◆ - Large Processing Machines During the day, there is a long downtime due to setup work, but at night, they operate at a high utilization rate with automatic operation. ⇒ It became clear that reducing setup downtime would yield significant improvement effects. - Small Parts Processing Machines I had the impression that small parts require frequent setup changes and have short processing times per part, leading to low utilization rates, but surprisingly, the rates are quite high. ⇒ This motivated a reassessment of the incorrect perception. The profit margin for small parts is high. - Causes of Downtime From the history display, a list of robot alarms can be obtained, making it easy to analyze causes of downtime. ⇒ We can now address the most frequent causes of downtime, allowing us to experience the effects of reduced downtime early on.
