■New Type of Boring Survey The new boring survey machine "VD Boring," developed by Something, is a compact self-propelled survey machine that does not require the installation of scaffolding or preparation of test water. It can conduct boring surveys not only outdoors but also indoors and in narrow spaces. Like conventional boring surveys, it is capable of performing "Standard Penetration Tests" based on JIS A 1219, allowing for the determination of soil hardness, compaction, and the composition of soil layers, as well as sampling of soil types. It can accommodate ground conditions with an N value of approximately 20 up to a depth of about GL-20m. This new type reduces construction time and costs compared to traditional methods. Additionally, it manages all survey depths and N values through the GeoWeb system, establishing traceability from on-site operations to reporting. As a result, the submission of preliminary data is faster and free from data tampering compared to conventional methods. ■Conventional Boring Survey Since its founding, Something has accumulated extensive achievements across the country and possesses a vast amount of survey data. There are no restrictions on the depth that can be surveyed.

■Plate Load Test<br />This is a survey method recognized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Since the loading plate is small (30 cm in diameter), it cannot investigate the ground below a depth of approximately 0.6 m. However, by utilizing the vast ground data held by Something, multifaceted analysis can be conducted, enhancing the accuracy of the test.
