Inconel, an alloy with excellent high-temperature properties such as heat resistance, corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, and creep resistance, is used in various fields including space shuttles, aircraft jet engines, and, in more familiar contexts, high-end automotive mufflers.

While Inconel has high corrosion resistance, its properties result in poor thermal conductivity and high machinability difficulty, making cutting processing challenging. Therefore, we performed processing using a non-contact method with an ultra-short pulse laser that is not limited by the material being processed.
