Charles and Ray Eames, representatives of American Mid-Century design, designed numerous chairs, but one of the most iconic among them is the "Eames Lounge Chair & Ottoman," which was introduced in 1956. The lineage of this chair's design can be traced back to the 1940 MoMA competition "Organic Design in Home Furnishings," where Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen collaborated and presented their ideas. It is said that the design concept already existed at that time. Subsequently, in 1945-1946, Charles and Ray created a prototype that divided the chair into three sections, each made of molded plywood. This evolved into a shape that can be considered the prototype of the final product, and several other prototypes were made afterward. Finally, in 1956, it was brought to market.
