Portable and low-cost universal filter
The 3611 is a low-cost, multifunctional frequency-variable filter that allows the cutoff frequency to be set in two digits using a decade dial. It features low-pass and high-pass filters with a roll-off of 24dB/oct, as well as 1/3 octave bandwidth band-pass and band-elimination filter characteristics, which can be switched using push-button switches. Additionally, the passband gain can be set to either 0dB or 20dB.

■As a filter to eliminate the influence of commercial power lines With the 3611, a band elimination filter (BEF) can be used to attenuate the 50/60Hz (power frequency) signal components. In signal sources such as sensors, when the output impedance is high, the influence of commercial power lines can cause the appearance of 50/60Hz signal components that are not originally output by the sensor. In this case, by utilizing the band elimination filter of the 3611, the 50/60Hz signal components can be removed, allowing for the extraction of the original signal from the sensor. ■As a filter to extract analysis signals in noise and vibration testing The 3611 features a 1/3 octave bandwidth bandpass filter (BPF). This can be used to extract only the signal components of the required frequency. When analyzing noise and vibration, various frequency bands of signals can be picked up in addition to the desired frequency signal. To make it easier to measure the signal of interest, a bandpass filter can be used to extract the necessary signals while attenuating the signal components from other frequency bands.
