In recent years, looking back at hot die forging, since the mid to late 1960s, the domestic press manufacturers' efforts have led to the advancement of domestic production of presses, which have steadily become widespread. Naturally, die holders for die forging presses have also developed alongside the proliferation of die forging presses and the demands of users. However, with the intensification of cost reduction competition, the transition from mass production of a few varieties to small-lot production of many varieties, as well as the automation of die forging presses, there has been a growing call for the reduction of setup time for die changes aimed at minimizing downtime. In response, Kusunoki Seiko Co., Ltd. re-evaluated the structure of die holders based on the accumulation of hot forging and mold technology at Howa Forging Co., Ltd. We pioneered the use of SKT4 material for the main body, striving to maintain strength and precision, and delivered it to Toyota Motor Corporation. Additionally, we improved the traditional monolithic structure seen in cast steel to a compact type using a block assembly method, and developed a single setup method for die changes in combination with die transport machines in 1982, which we have provided to our customers. Moving forward, based on our track record and customer evaluations, we are committed to responding to various requests as a "concierge" for the forging industry, not only with die holders but also through modifications and improvements.
