Confirm that it does not belong to B. anthracis / Estimate whether it is a species that falls under BSL2 within the B. cereus group / Diarrheal toxin and emetic toxin tests.
- I want to estimate whether it belongs to B. cereus or B. wiedmannii (both BSL2) or to other species → Multiplex PCR test / Multiplex PCR Rapid test* - I want to confirm whether it produces diarrhea toxin or not → Diarrhea toxin detection test* *Items marked with an asterisk are only conducted for strains where B. anthracis has been ruled out. The Bacillus cereus group is difficult to distinguish among 18 species based on 16S rDNA sequence analysis. The Bacillus cereus group includes species that are extremely important from the perspective of biosafety, infection prevention, and medical laws concerning patients with infectious diseases, such as B. anthracis (anthrax) and B. cereus (cereus). Please use this when strains suspected to belong to the Bacillus cereus group are detected.

basic information
〇BC Multiplex PCR Test Seven species of the B. cereus group, excluding B. anthracis, are grouped using eight types of primers. In particular, B. cereus and B. thuringiensis can be identified individually. 〇Diarrheal Toxin Detection Test Diarrheal toxins produced by B. cereus, such as hemolysin BL enterotoxin and non-hemolytic enterotoxin, are known. We offer a reverse passive latex agglutination method to detect hemolysin BL enterotoxin. If it is unclear whether the sample belongs to the B. cereus group, please conduct an identification test in advance (refer to Rapid analysis).
