<Case Study> Our conversion adapter compatible with Paralan was adopted for the update of Yaskawa PLCs at a certain steelworks. To mitigate risks during the update, it was a mandatory requirement from the user to perform the update using Paralan. <Result> By using the existing PLC-compatible conversion adapter, we were able to reduce the wiring work to about one-third compared to rewiring. Additionally, using the Paralan-compatible adapter made it easy to establish a Paralan environment. Since the new PLC could be installed while the equipment was running and data could be collected from the existing PLC, sufficient time could be allocated for software verification, enabling a PLC update with minimal risk of issues.
