This is an introduction to Kōei Techno System's "Arc Spraying," which focuses on the repair, regeneration, prolongation, and maintenance of parts, aiming for high-quality parts and advanced machinery through research and development in areas such as wear resistance, heat resistance, and corrosion prevention, similar to preventive medicine. Arc spraying is a type of electric spraying that generates an arc discharge between two metal wires, using the discharge energy to melt the wires. The wires are fed in accordance with the melting speed, and compressed air is used to atomize the molten metal, which is then continuously sprayed onto the substrate to form a coating. Compared to frame spraying methods, arc spraying has a greater spraying capacity, and because the spraying materials are sufficiently melted at high temperatures, they exhibit excellent adhesion to the substrate.
