We will braze hard alloy to castings to improve wear resistance.
Castings are suitable for mass production of complex shapes, but their wear resistance is a challenge due to the inability to undergo heat treatment. By brazing cemented carbide onto friction parts, wear resistance can be improved. For example, casting materials like gray cast iron (FC material) are typically chosen for their high degree of freedom in shaping and cost efficiency during mass production. Even with such casting base materials, when strength and wear resistance are required, ductile cast iron (FCD material) may be used. Furthermore, if the wear environment at the action point of a tool made from FCD material is particularly harsh, the tool's effectiveness can be enhanced by making only that specific action point from cemented carbide. In such cases, the brazing processing technology of castings and cemented carbide is utilized. However, there are also technical challenges associated with brazing cemented carbide to castings.
