WPC (Water Proof Checker) has excellent technical features that are not found in other methods due to its judgment principle.
Basic Structure of Strain Detection Method (1) Prepare a pressurized capsule for the workpiece. (2) Place the workpiece inside the capsule. (3) Pressurize the inside of the capsule. (4) Measure the strain on the surface of the workpiece. (5) Close the valve at a desired pressure and stop the pressurization. (6) Measure the change in strain on the surface of the workpiece. The judgment is made as shown in the graph of the image during the above operations. Explanation of the graph: (1)(2) When the area around the workpiece is pressurized, the surface of the workpiece deforms (dents) due to the pressure difference between the inside and outside. (3) If there is a large leak, this pressure difference will not occur or will equalize quickly, resulting in no deformation or a rapid return to its original shape. (4) If no large leak is detected, the change in strain is measured at a constant pressure to perform small leak detection. (5) If there is a small leak, the pressure difference between the internal and external pressures gradually decreases, causing the strain to recover. (6) If no small leak is detected, the strain at a constant pressure stabilizes and does not recover.

basic information
Conditions for Work that Can Be Determined by WPC (1) The work must be of a size that can be stored within a pressurized capsule. (2) It must have a sealed structure, and if there are any openings, they must be sealed. (3) The shape must be stable, and it must deform under pressure and return to its original shape when the pressure decreases. (4) It must not break or be damaged under pressure that causes a deformation of several to several tens of micrometers. (*) (5) The measurement area must be a single-chamber structure (one closed space). (*) * Due to the viscoelasticity (viscosity, elasticity, softness) of the work, there are differences in the speed, process, and time of recovery after the pressure is released to atmospheric pressure. Even if deformation and recovery can be determined in the first measurement, the same determination result may not occur in continuous measurements over a short period.

Company information
We design, develop, manufacture, and sell waterproof testing equipment used in the automotive industry, watch and electronics industry, medical and food industry, mobile phones, smartphones, and portable devices, among others. Since its establishment in 1973, Hamron Tech Co., Ltd. has consistently developed, manufactured, and sold leak testing devices. In particular, the "WPC series" of airtight waterproof performance testers, which employs the "strain detection method," is a technology invented and uniquely developed by our company. It is a groundbreaking product with numerous excellent features as an airtight waterproof performance tester for small sealed items, adopted by all Japanese watch manufacturers. We have secured over 90% domestic market share among waterproof mobile phone and smartphone manufacturers, and we have a significant track record of deliveries to overseas manufacturers, making it a de facto industry standard model. It is also used for testing various products such as waterproof digital cameras, video cameras, and televisions, with cumulative shipments of the WPC series exceeding 6,000 units. We aspire to be a solution planner for our customers' various "leak" related issues. As of October 1, 2023, we have transferred our business to our parent company, Rika Aihara Seiki Co., Ltd. Going forward, Rika Aihara Seiki will handle the sales and maintenance of Hamron products.
