Providing silent, low power, and optimal SWaP (Size, Weight, Power) performance through piezo technology.
Nanomotion's shutter technology optimizes SWaP (size, weight, and power) by applying piezo technology, making it usable even in the most challenging environments (various temperatures, shocks, vibrations). It is active in fields such as IR image sensors.

basic information
The RS08 rotary shutter is a piezoelectric shutter developed by Nanomotion that uses a miniature piezo motor to improve the accuracy of remote temperature measurements with infrared cameras. The shutter is available in six models with movable ranges of 35, 45, 55, 70, 90, and 120 degrees. The high emissivity blades provide reference values for reliable temperature readings from infrared cameras, contributing to the reduction of uncertainties caused by the surrounding environment. Additionally, it can be used for non-uniformity correction (NUC). The compact actuator has a built-in driver and can be used as a closed-loop device, connecting to a higher-level controller via I2C communication. Furthermore, Nanomotion offers an evaluation kit that supports two operating modes: a GUI mode using a PC and an FPGA mode utilizing I2C communication. In GUI mode, users can install a dedicated Windows application on their PC to control the shutter.
