This is a case study of machining an injection molding mold (other company’s mold) for automobiles manufactured overseas. The repair requests included burr repair, runner extension, and shape correction. For the burr repair, after laser welding, a finishing technician manually restored the joint and product areas. Notably, the runner extension was processed using a machining center. Regarding the shape distortion, it was caused by distortion during the initial polishing. Our polishing technician restored the shape while checking the 3D data.
