SiTCP is a technology that connects the front end of physical experiments to a PC via Ethernet, developed by Dr. Tomohisa Uchida. It enables stable high-speed communication through hardware-based TCP/IP communication. ■It has been adopted as a general-purpose data processing board for particle physics experiments at a research institution. Multiple general-purpose connectors are arranged on the board to be utilized in various particle physics experiments. The functionality of the board is simple, but SiTCP-XG has been adopted to send large volumes of data to the PC. ■It has been adopted for the pixel readout and control board of semiconductor X-ray detectors. An FPGA evaluation board has been used for the main part of data processing, significantly reducing manufacturing costs. Since SiTCP-XG has a small circuit scale, it does not encroach on the user area within the FPGA, even in evaluation boards.
