Development of an optical detection unit suitable for non-cylindrical shapes! Surface inspection of 8 cams can be performed within 15 seconds.
As an example of a non-cylindrical component, we developed an automatic inspection device for micro-casting defects on the surface of automotive camshafts. The defect detection accuracy is over 0.1mm, and the inspection time depends on the number of sensors, but it can inspect the surfaces of 8 camshafts within 15 seconds. This development received technical support from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) Chugoku Center. [Key Points of Technology Development] - Development of an optical detection unit suitable for non-cylindrical shapes - Reception of reflected laser spot light with two long PSDs around the entire circumference - Development of a defect discrimination algorithm based on variable reflected light intensity data *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
