Busbars and connectors (functional prototype parts) are applied for functional prototyping in automotive and industrial equipment. Busbars and connectors require insulation and low water absorption. While metal insert molding cannot be done with a 3D printer, high-functionality prototypes can be achieved with short lead times and low costs by press-fitting or bonding metal after 3D printing. Electronic component transport trays (final parts) are used in harsh processes such as alkaline cleaning and drying processes (100-150°C), requiring high chemical resistance and heat resistance. Typically, aluminum machined parts are used, and especially in pilot lines where the quantity is limited (fewer than 100 pieces), using a 3D printer can provide cost advantages. Additionally, since the tray shape changes depending on the shape of the electronic components, customization becomes easy.
