In the 1995 Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, many people lost their lives inside buildings, and it is said that 10% to 30% of those fatalities were caused by furniture tipping over. Similarly, during the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, widespread furniture tipping incidents occurred, highlighting the need for furniture stabilization. Suehiro System Co., Ltd. has developed "anchor bolts" to securely fix furniture to reinforced concrete (RC) walls.
