Octagonal shim by wire cutting
This is a custom-made large octagonal shim. The material is SUS304, and it is a component used in power transmission devices. The eight holes inside this custom octagonal shim required high machining precision of ±0.01, while the larger central hole required ±0.03. To achieve this, we reduced machining vibrations by sandwiching multiple stacked blanks with thicker steel material, and we cut each hole in four stages to ensure high-precision machining. After that, we produced the outer octagonal shape in one cut, but since the outer circumference was a larger product at 150mm, we divided the starting hole for wire cutting into two and cut it in two parts. Our company is capable of sourcing a variety of materials, not only standard steel and SUS but also from amorphous products to special alloys, and we provide one-stop support from prototype machining of custom shims to mass production. Additionally, based on the data accumulated in our unique production management system, we offer products to customers at appropriate prices.
