This is a custom shim (spacer) for power transmission devices. It is made from phosphor bronze (C5191) material, punched out using press processing. The thickness precision requirement for this custom shim is ±0.01mm, and the customer has also requested a flatness of 0.02mm for both the front and back surfaces. In cases like these, it is difficult to guarantee precision with the material alone, so we perform double-sided grinding after press processing. The custom shims we receive requests for often require such high precision as they are precision press products. Additionally, we do not limit ourselves to just phosphor bronze; we also accommodate double-sided grinding for brass, yellow brass (C2680, C2801), and copper (C1100). We handle a wide range of materials, from general iron and SUS to amorphous products and special alloys, providing one-stop solutions from prototype processing to mass production for custom shims.
