Facilities where people gather are required to have smoke exhaust outlets. This time, we will introduce a case where a central-axis rotating type skylight (GGU type) was installed as a smoke exhaust outlet that also serves as a light source.
I was involved in the project in Rikuzentakata. I would like to introduce a skylight installation case requested by CAMOCY. The two requests were as follows: - To design the building in a way that evokes the image of the town of warehouses. - To use local timber to create a building with high environmental performance. Facilities that gather people are required to have smoke exhaust openings, and we installed a central-axis rotating type skylight (GGU type) that also serves as a smoke exhaust opening. The multi-layer glass used for the skylight is all Low-E multi-layer glass filled with argon gas, providing high heat insulation and thermal insulation performance. [Proposed products for smoke exhaust use] - GGU manual type + commercially available operator - GGH type This will be a very effective tool to achieve natural "ventilation" and "daylighting." *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.
