HOPG (Highly Oriented Pyrolytic Graphite) is a high-purity, well-oriented, high-layered graphite. It is characterized by a small mosaic spread due to the good alignment of individual graphite microcrystals, as well as a very smooth surface and conductivity. The smaller the mosaic spread, the higher the degree of orientation and the greater the flatness. Since HOPG has a layered structure, sample preparation is very simple. By pressing adhesive tape against the HOPG surface and then peeling it off, a very smooth new conductive surface is obtained. The sample surface is often used for research with STM and as a sample substrate for other materials. We offer three types of HOPG with different mosaic spreads (ZYA, ZYB, ZYH). In addition to the mosaic spread, there are two models: Double-sided (DS) and Single-sided (SS). Double-sided HOPG can be used from both sides, and its properties remain the same regardless of depth. Single-sided HOPG has a non-functional side that appears matte and looks like it has a satin finish, and it cannot be cleaved. The number of cleavages for Single-sided HOPG is fewer compared to Double-sided HOPG, and its properties may vary depending on depth. Custom sizes are also available. The sizes range from a minimum of 5 x 5 mm to a maximum of 50 x 50 mm, with thicknesses from a minimum of 0.5 mm to a maximum of 3 mm.
