After you send us the samples you collected from your own skin microbiome, including the face, we will extract the microbial genomic DNA and perform large-scale sequencing analysis using our in-house next-generation sequencer (MiSeq from Illumina). From the obtained sequences, we will conduct homology searches and phylogenetic classification analyses. If sequences with high homology to those in the database are found, we can identify the microbiome down to the species level. Three types of metagenomic analyses can be performed from the DNA extracted from one kit. We will undertake analyses tailored to your requests.

- Bacterial Community 16S rRNA Gene Analysis In this analysis, a portion of the 16S rRNA gene corresponding to V1 and V2 is PCR amplified and sequenced using next-generation sequencing to measure the types and relative abundance of bacteria present in the bacterial community. Bacterial analysis can be performed on the skin from any part of the body where a seal can be applied. - Acne Bacterium Typing Analysis Acne bacteria are the most abundant bacterial species on the skin. They prefer to proliferate in areas with high sebum levels, and their relative abundance decreases with age. Our company extracts the core genome of acne bacteria independently and improves the accuracy of the analysis while ensuring compatibility with existing Single Locus Sequence Typing (SLST) methods, allowing us to classify the types of acne bacteria (at the strain level). - Fungal Community ITS Region Analysis Among the rRNA genes possessed by fungi, there are regions with sequences that differ by species, known as the Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) region. Our company amplifies this region using PCR and sequences it with next-generation sequencing to analyze the types and relative abundance of fungi present in the sample.
