basic information
Air Plasma Spray (APS) coating technology enables the deposition of titanium (Ti) and hydroxyapatite coating (HA), ensuring coatings with performance and characteristics compliant with FDA requirements, and varying degrees of porosity and roughness. APS titanium coatings have been used clinically for decades with success. APS Ti coatings are the most cost-effective solution that meets the essential requirement for long-term osseointegration with the host bone tissue used in medical devices. Our APS Ti coatings are suitable for several types of medical devices. Low roughness Ti coatings are generally used for dental implants and spinal components, while high roughness Ti coatings are used for joint components. Currently, there are two types of APS Ti coatings: Y371 Y367 Both APS Ti coatings can be overlaid with a second Osprovit HA coating to further stimulate the initial biological response and promote bone growth.
