The "Rosemount 2160" is a tuning fork level switch designed using the principle of tuning forks. The fork vibrates at its natural frequency due to the piezoelectric crystal. The frequency of the vibrating fork sensor changes according to the immersion medium, with higher density liquids resulting in lower frequencies.
