It contributes to research and development as well as quality control in various fields, such as organic devices and solar cells that require high water vapor barrier properties, and in the food and pharmaceutical packaging sectors where oxygen barrier properties are crucial to prevent quality degradation due to oxidation. It can detect a water vapor transmission rate of 10^-7 g·m^-2·day^-1, equivalent to one drop of water falling on a sample (film) with an area equal to that of 10 soccer fields per day. Additionally, a newly developed measurement method significantly shortens the measurement time, and by using calibration instruments from public institutions, quantitative measurements traceable to national standards are possible.
